ELOPE IN THE WILD WEST
ROOTED IN NOSTALGIA
I believe…
▸ the marriage is more important than the wedding
▸ connection + trust between us is key
▸ genuine moments trump posing
▸ your day should be photographed exactly how it happened
▸ photographers should shoot for the couple, not for instagram
▸ how & where you get married should be a true representation of who you are as a couple
▸ the little in-between moments are significant too
▸ photos are a visual that should remind you how the day felt
why ELOPE?
I’ve heard it over and over again. “We’re just glad it’s finally over.” And my heart sinks. every. time. In my experience of photographing traditional weddings, I’ve seen firsthand how the planning and pressure of a larger wedding day can take its toll and start to wear on couples. What started out as an exciting new chapter quickly turned to checklists full of empty traditions and unrealistic expectations. The focus shifts from the relationship and the coming together of two people to a show meant to entertain everyone else. Are big weddings bad? No. Are they for everyone? No.
Eloping gives you the opportunity to focus on what matters most to you as a couple.
So why elope? Because getting married doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, it can be fun, meaningful, intimate, and a true reflection of who you are.
Whether you’re still on the fence and searching for elopement ideas and inspiration, or if you’re ready to take the leap and say I do your way, I’d love to come alongside you and get the process started.
I photograph couples eloping in the grand tetons + across the states of Wyoming, colorado, Montana + worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

My home base is a little mountain town in northern Wyoming named Story. Cute, right?! It’s right in between Sheridan and Buffalo.
I’m originally from Nebraska (GBR) and spend a lot of time there as well.

Oh yeah! I shoot a majority of my elopements in Grand Teton National Park, as well as across the state of Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and worldwide.

I love photographing couples who feel a connection to the outdoors and who are always up for an adventure.
SHOOTING STYLE / I would say I take a creative, journalistic approach to my photos. I strive to capture an elopement exactly as it unfolds. To me, the photographs should snap you right back to that moment, not remind you of the 10 minutes it took to primp and prep to get the perfect shot that had no real meaning. I like to look for those little in-between moments that make the day so special.
EDITING STYLE / I try to keep my edits true to real life, but with a touch of warmth. I want your images to be a representation of what the day actually looked and felt like.

The first wedding I photographed on my own was in 2013… whaaaa, time is flying! I had been a second shooter for other photographers for a couple of years before that.
When I began dabbling in photography, I shot everything: first birthdays, newborns, families, couples, seniors, corporate events, you name it. I wanted to try everything out to see what I was drawn to most, and that ended up being couples. There’s just something about getting to photograph two people who are in love and capturing that connection. Gahh I just can’t get enough!

PRE-ELOPEMENT / Before your elopement, I want to be a resource for you to reach out to. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so I know exactly what to expect… you, on the other hand, are probably doing this for the first time. I’m here to walk you through! I assist with timeline creation, location scouting, vendor recommendations, can be a sounding board for your ideas, and help you out in any way I can.
WHILE SHOOTING / Everyone tells me how awkward they are in front of the camera, so trust me when I say you’re not the only one who feels that way! I like to observe and photograph things as they unfold, but give input when needed.
My superpower when it comes to photographing elopements is my adaptability. I can go with the flow and have a very easygoing vibe.
