Iceland Waterfall Adventure Session
Iceland, Iceland, Iceland. You have my heart.
My first time traveling to this magical country did not disappoint. I found myself constantly saying, “WOOOW” out loud as I drove and hiked around. I was hired to shoot an elopement and couldn’t help but add a few extra days to my trip to explore. I was nervous about traveling solo at first, but quickly found that Iceland is the perfect place to do so – especially if you love road trips like I do. You can hop in a car and just go.
I’m so glad I was able to connect with Candice and Mitch to shoot these fun Iceland waterfall photos of them. Candice and I found each other in a traveling photographers Facebook group (check out her work) because we had both posted about going to Iceland. It worked out perfectly that our trips overlapped and this Nebraska girl was able to photograph a Canadian couple in Iceland. The internet is pretty wild, amirite?!
Candice found this sweet location that’s only about an hour from Reykjavík. It’s really accessible but secluded and not busy at all. There were only ever 1–2 other cars in the parking lot while we were there. There were no fences, just a couple tiny trails. You can walk right up to the waterfall and basically have the place to yourself. Plus, it was in a scene of Game of Thrones.
If you’ve ever wanted to visit Iceland, GO. Book your tickets now. And if you want photos while you’re there, I’d love to be your third wheel tour guide photographer!
